This 8.48ha property is one of the smallest, most awarded, well known and prestigious organic wine farms in South Africa. Most of the wines produced by The Organic Vineyards have won Gold or Double Gold medals at local and international wine shows, including the trophy for the Best Organic Wine in 2009, 2012 and 2015. The Organic Vineyards has been much written about, with featured articles published in Wine Magazine, Food & Home Magazine, the Bolander and several other publications.
The property is planted to 5.45 ha of vines with some carefully chosen cultivars of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Mourvèdre and Viognier, all of which do very well in the Wellington climate.

Apart from the production of award winning wines, the farm also functions as a self-sufficient operation with cow and sheep pastures, a duck and chicken house, vegetable garden, fruit orchard, bee hives and olive groves. Around 80 - 100 litres of olive oil as well as 15 - 20 litres of honey are produced per year.
The 304m² farm house is reputed to be an exact replica of a Provencial style house that the original owners stayed in when they visited the Rothschild Estate in Provence, France. It comprises 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 living areas, kitchen, double garage and swimming pool.
Further outbuildings consist of a 40m² open-plan tasting room with guest toilet facilities, a 42m² open-plan guest cottage with bathroom, some 419m² of warehousing and storerooms and 4 labourers' cottages.
The entire farm is under a drip irrigation system professionally installed by Dripco in 2004. While the water comes from an earthen dam filled by rain and natural run off, irrigating the vineyards is kept to a minimum in order to enhance the intensity and flavour of the grapes and the wine. Next to the dam is a pump house with fertilizer tank for fertilizing the vineyards and farm through the irrigation system.
The borehole capacity is approximately 5000 litres per hour and is used for domestic purposes only. Electricity is supplied via Eskom.
